Amalendu Bagchi
Putia Postal Mail Action


Born 1st May 1907 at Rajshahi ( Bangladesh) s/o/ Late Bata Krishna Bagchi. Joined Anusheelan Samity in 1921. Arrested in September, 1931, in connection with Putia postal Mail Action. District Rajshahi along with Bijan Sen. Sentenced for 7 years R.I. deported to Andamans. Joined 2 Hunger strikes there in Cellular Jail., 1933 of 45 days and 1937 of 37 days. Repatriated in 1937. Released in 1938. total jail period about 7 years.

Benoy Bose
Dacca Imperial bank Action


Born 31st July 1910, Dacca, Bangladesh, s/o Late Hemanga Kumar Bose. In 1924 came in contact with the revolutionary party Sri Sangha. Remanied underground for an year. After the shooting action pertaining to Lowman and Hudson. Subsequently arrested in Dacca Imperial Bank Action. Sentenced to 10 years R.I.deported to Andamans. Participated in the Cellular Jail two hunger strikes 1933 for 45 days and in 1937 for 37 days. Also participated in another hunger strike in 1939 July for 36 days. Released in September 1939. Total jail period 8 years. Repatriated in 1938., January.

Bhagwan Biswas

Born 1913, Noakhali, Bnagladesh, s/o Late Chunilal Biswas. At 16 joined Anusheela Samity. Arrested in 1932 for revolutionary activities and sentenced to 5 years R.I. deported to Cellular Jail. Participated in second Hunger Strike. Repatriated and released in 1938, October. Arrested in 1942 for anti war activities and confined to jail for two and half years. Total Jail Period more than7 years.

Bejoy Krishna Banerjee
Hill Station raid Action


Born 1916,s/o Late Mathuranath Banerjee, Dacca, Bangladesh. Belonged to Anusheela Samity. Arrested in June 1937 in Hilli Station Raid Action. Sentenced to a prison term of 10 years. Deported to Andamans. Took part in Hunger strike in Cellular jail for 37 days in 1937. Repatriated in January 1938. Released by early forties on medical grounds. Total jail period more then ten years.

Bimal Bhowmick

Born 1918, rangpur, Bangladesh, s/o Late Abala Mohan Bhowmick . Connented with Jugantar Party. Convicted to 6 years R.I. under Arms Act in 1934. deported to the Cellular Jail, Andamans. During his trial, the police not only harrased his family but also caused extensive damage to his house. Participated in the second hunger strike. Released in 1939. Total jail period more than 5 years.

Bimal Chandra Bhattacharya
Inter-Provincial Conspiracy Case


Born 1st April, 1912. Mymensingh, Bangladesh, s/o Late Bepin Chandra Bhattacharya. Joined Anusheelan Samity in his teens. Remained underground for about one and one and half years. Arrested on 31.12.1932 in connection with Interprovincial Conspiracy Case . Deported to Andamans. Took part in second hunger strike in the Cellular Jail - July 1937 and another one at Alipore Central Jail, Calcutta in July 1939. Detained under D.I.R. after release till 1945. Total jail period thirteen years.

Dharani Biswas
Putia Mail Action


Born 24.08.1902, Mymensingh, Bangladesh, s/o Late Rajani Biswas. Belonged to Anusheelan Samity. Undergone three months prison term in the Non- cooperation movement.(1921-22). Arrested in connection with Putia Maail Action on 02.10.1929. Senttenced to six years prison term. Deported to Andamans. Took part in first hunger strike in 1933. After repatriation and released confined in several prison without trial. Total jail period about 10 years. He is no more in living.

Dinesh Chandra Banik
Kamalpur Action


Born in 1907 in Mymensingh, Bangladesh,s/o Late Mohim Chandra Banik. Arerested and convicted for 7 years by a special tribunal in connection with Kamalpur action. In Cellular Jail for about 4 years and more than three and a half years in mainland jails.

Haripada Bhattacharjee
Ahsanullah Murder Case


Age 16 years in 1931, of Chittagong, Bangladesh, s/o Ambika charan Bhattacharjee. On 30th August 1931 he shot down Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, D.S.P. and public prosecuter of the Chitagong Armoury Raid case. His house was also set to fire by the police to create communal feeling. The case was later transferred to the High Court. Sentenced on 27th Februaury1932 to Life imprisonment. Transported to Andamans in July 1932. Repatriated during 1937-38.
