Manoranjan Choudhury
Bathua Action and Conspiracy Case

Born 25.03.1916, Madarsa , Chittagong, s/o Late Gobinda Chowdhury . Joined Anusheelan Samity . Arrested in connection with Bathua action and Conspiracy Case on 24th February 1934. Sentenced to a prison term of 7 years. Deported to Andamans. Participated in the second hunger strike in Cellular Jail, July 1937, 37 days. Repatriated in 1938, January. Released in 1939.

Nandgopal Chopra


He was an editor of weekly 'Inquilab' Lahore. S/o Bulaki Ram. He had got already a sentence of 5 years R.I. at Lahore for writing seditious articles. While he was at large on bail he took up publication of swarajya. He could manage to edit nearly a dozen issues of Swarajya. Arrested and sentenced to transportationon three different counts to an aggregate term of 30 years. Deported to the Andamans.

Nitya Ranjan Choudhury
Tilon Action of West Dinajpur

Born 1906, Balurghat, West Dinajpur, West Bengal. S/o late Lalit Mohan Choudhury. Matriculated. Belonged to Yugantar Party. Arrested on 4th August 1934 in connection with an action ( Tilon Action - W. Dinajpur). Sentenced to Ten years prison term. Deported to the Andamans. Took part in the second hunger strike in Cellular jail-July 1937 for 37 days. Total jail period more than six years.

Pran Krishna Chakraborty
Hilli Railway Station Action
( The Then East Bengal Railways on 29.10.1933)

Born October 1933, Faridpur,Bangladesh, s/o Late Jankinath chakraborty , when he was a IIIrd year student of Midford Medical school, Dacca gave up studies and engaged in the revolutionary works. Belonged to Anusheela Samity. Arrested in December 1932 at Jalpaiguri with Arms. Sentenced to aprison term of 7 years. While being transferred from Jalpaiguri jail to Calcutta jail escaped from the custody of armed police escort from a running train with convicts uniform and with steel handcuffs locked on the wrist. Went underground. A reward was declared by the then British Govt. for his arrest. Later arrested on 29.10.1933 on the bank of a river in the afternoon following the nightraid on Hilli railway station. The trial court sentenced him to death. Commuted by the High court to prison term of 25 years. Deported to the Andamans . Took part in the Cellular Jail second hunger strike(1937). Fell a victim to the brutal punishment of flogging in the Cellular Jail. Repatriated in January 1938. Took part in another hunger strike in 1939 ,July for 36 days in Alipore Central Jail. Released on 31st August 1946. Total jail period 14 years.

Ramesh Chandra Chatterjee
Carrying out of revolutionary punishment on a notorious S.I.

Born 24.03.1912, Kirtipasha,Jhalkathi, Barisal, Bangladesh, s/o Late Durga Kumar Chatterjee, Govt service holder at the age of 14 came in contact with Yugantar Party. In the trial and session court sentenced to death. Commuted to transportation for life by high court. Deported to Andamans. Joined the two hunger strikes in Cellular Jail. 1933, May for 45 days and 1937 July for 37 days. Another one in Alipore Central Jail in 1939 July for 36 days. Repatriated in January 1938. Released 1946 August. Total jail period more than 17 years.

Satyabrata Chakraborty
Luke shooting Case ( 1932)

Born 12.03.1916 at Dinajpur, Bangladesh,s/o Late Kalikumar Chakraborty service holder was a student of I.A. in Rajshahi college. At the age of 12 came in contact with Anusheelan Party. Avoided arrest for one year. Mr. Luke supdt. Rajshahi College jail was shot in November 1932. Luke was seriously injured and went back to England. Arrested on 29 .10.1933 in connection with the Hilli action . Awarded death sentence. Commuted to 10 years prison by the high court on appeal. Participated in the second hunger strike repatriated in 1938 January. Took Part in another hunger strike in Alipore Central jail. After release in 1942 was rearrested and kept in detention. Took active part in peasant movements in1946-47. Total jail period 12 years.

Shashin Chakraborty
Arms Act, Midnapore Conspiracy

S/o Late Shyamacharan Chakraborty, Born in Sharmesha, Bangladesh in 1908. A member of Yugantar Party at the age of 13. Arrested in June 1932 and convicted for 6 and half years at Kisjoregunj and Ntrakona. In cellular jail for 3 years. Total period in jail 7 years.

Sushil Kumar Chakraborty
Lebong Action

Born 1915 , Banari, Dacca, Bangladesh , s/o Late Manmohan Chakraborty. Arrested in 1934 in connection with Lebong Action. Sentenced to 12 years. Deported to Andams .Took part in second hunger strike. Repatriated in January 1938. Released in 1939. Total jail period about 6 years.

 

Sunil Chatterjee
Garlic murder and Watson shooting

Born 07.01.1909, Gangahata, Jaynagar, 24 paraganas, West Bengal, s/o Late Aghornath Chatterjee( Advocate at Muzaffarpur , Bihar. Passed the degree ciurse in chemical engineering-jadavpur University. Joined yugantar partyat the age of 14. Took active part in bomb making. Organised Garlic murder (27.07.1931) Judge Alipore session court and Watson shooting-Alfred Watson editor of the Statesman. Arrested on 29.09.1932 and the subsequent trial sentenced to transportation for life. Deported to Andamans. Participated in the second hunger strike. Repatriated in 1938, January. Released in 1946, 31st August. Total jail period 14 years.
